Rahul not a political novice, says sister

DIH (U.P.): Priyanka Vadra on Saturday batted aggressively for her brother, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, saying no one should underestimate him as a politician and he would prove wrong those who thought he was a novice.
Ms. Vadra, out on a road show in Rae Bareli district for the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls, also backed the Amethi MP's recent controversial statements saying he knew history very well.
"No one should write off anyone in politics. My brother will prove him (Mulayam) wrong with time and days to come," Ms. Vadra said, referring to a statement made by Chief Minister Mulayam Singh that Mr. Gandhi was a political novice.
Ms. Vadra, who is on the first day of her two-day road show in Amethi and Rae Bareli Lok Sabha constituencies, was campaigning for Congress candidate Shivbalak Passi in the Salon Assembly constituency in Rae Bareli district.
About Rahul Gandhi's statements, including the one on the division of Pakistan, she said, "He knows history very well.''
Ms. Vadra appealed to the people to strengthen the hands of Mr. Gandhi and help him in fulfilling his mission.
Attacking the Samajwadi Party, Ms. Vadra said the Mulayam Government was the most corrupt regime in the country, adding, "There is no law and order in the State."— PTI
